Our specialists are committed to providing exceptional healthcare for women at every stage of life. From women desiring a healthy, stress-free pregnancy to those entering menopausal years, we have expertise in all phases of a woman’s life. Our services span the full spectrum of health issues for women.
Last year, more than 300 babies were born at the Crisp Regional Hospital Women’s Center. With exceptional staffing ratios (staff members per patient) and a calm and pleasant environment, mothers and babies receive the personalized care they deserve. And fathers and family members feel comfortable and confident about the experience as well. From the time you decide to become pregnant to your baby’s birth in one of our eight labor, delivery, and postpartum rooms, the Women’s Center at Crisp Regional Hospital is designed to ensure a healthy and happy experience for the baby and mother. Here, you’ll find a full range of care related to pregnancy and childbirth.
Planning for delivery often begins with a visit to the maternity unit. Our Women’s Center offers tours, lactation counselors, and nutritional planning. Our monthly “Perinatal Camp” is a two-hour informative session that takes you through each care aspect.
While you will have regular visits with your obstetrician throughout your pregnancy, weekly prenatal visits usually begin at 35 weeks, enabling the nurses and obstetricians to detect and manage any issues such as high blood pressure or gestational diabetes to keep mom and baby healthy.
After delivery, should your baby need a higher level of care, Crisp Regional has a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, providing staffing expertise and technologies for birth issues that are expected to resolve rapidly.
Our physicians provide routine and specialized care to help women maintain health and treat or manage conditions and disease with a focus on prevention. We work closely with experts in other related specialties as well, including urology, cardiology, and more.
Gynecology services and procedures include:
Crisp Regional’s newly renovated OB/Gyn office, the Women’s Center, was recently renovated and combined the practices of three physicians into one central location in an inviting and soothing environment for patients. Their focus on teamwork, coupled with the unified location, streamlines and simplifies care and benefits patients with their collective expertise. Onsite services include updated ultrasound technology for patient convenience.
Ame Gibbs was a teacher before she became a mom. With the delivery of both of her children at Crisp Regional, she learned a lot herself: the birthing experience at Crisp Regional was exceptional! Her first child was born via vaginal delivery, and the second by C-section. So she now has first-hand knowledge of the expertise in labor and delivery, in the C-section suite, among the anesthesia team, post-partum care, and the newborn nursery team.
“If I had to rate Crisp from one to 10 in expertise, it would be a 10!” she shared. “And in quality of care, a 10!” In reflection, she was especially pleased with the early morning doctor’s appointments before working. “That was huge, being a teacher … I didn’t have to miss work!”
