At Crisp Regional Hospital, we are committed to supporting Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. We understand the profound impact this disease has on individuals, families, and our community. Through education, support, and advocacy, we aim to contribute to a future where Alzheimer’s is a disease of the past. Join us in raising awareness, supporting those affected, and striving for a cure.
In June, the Alzheimer’s Association, the world’s largest non-profit funder of Alzheimer’s disease research, declares Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. This month is dedicated to raising awareness about the disease, supporting the millions of people worldwide living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, and recognizing the vital support provided by caregivers.
As a highlight of Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, the Alzheimer’s Association celebrates “The Longest Day” on June 20th. This significant day, the summer solstice, is the longest day of the year. On this day, people worldwide participate in fundraising activities of their choice to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s with the light of awareness and support.
During June, the Alzheimer’s Association encourages people worldwide to “Go Purple” and use their brains to fight this devastating disease. There are many ways to get involved with friends, family, and colleagues:
Remember, every effort counts. By participating in Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, you can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by this challenging disease. Together, we can bring hope and light to the fight against Alzheimer’s.
