National Women’s Health Week

Healthy Living.

May 9th-15th is National Women’s Health Week. This week is dedicated specifically to raising awareness about health issues that specifically affect women and educating women about how to live healthier lifestyles.

The aim is to promote physical and mentally healthy lifestyles in women. Below are some of the steps women can take to living healthier lives.

1.      Don’t skip the annual check-up.

Sometimes life can get busy, and things like doctor’s visits get forgotten. However, it is important to get an annual check-up, even if you’re feeling great.

An annual appointment may include a physical examination, as well as routine blood work. Women 45 and older should also get a mammogram annually.

2.      Make sure you are getting enough exercise.

Working daily exercise into your routine is a really simple but important way to maintain good health. Try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day.

3.      Eat healthy foods.

Sometimes healthy eating habits begin to slip away, and before you know it, your diet is no longer providing you with the nutrients you need to be healthy. Do a check-in on how many fruits and vegetables you are eating each day. Use this week as motivation to establish some good healthy eating habits.

4.      Find some stress relief.

It is important to spend time focusing on your mental well-being. Find ways to lower your stress levels and give your mind a rest. Many women find that things like meditation or journaling work well for them. Whatever it is, make it a part of your routine.

This National Women’s Health Week, take the time to invest in your health and share these health tips with the women in your life. This is a good opportunity to check in with yourself and prioritize your health.
